"I have a 2-year-old son, and both of my parents are in prison. I worried all the time about where to sleep, what to eat, and if I was going to lose my son. After a few months, the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) took my son. They said I could get him back once I was able to care for him again. That killed me. I was homeless and suffering from extreme anxiety and depression. When DCFS followed up, they told me to go to the Los Angeles Child Guidance Clinic. I was hesitant, but knew I needed to get healthy to get my son back. I meet with a therapist twice a week. She helped me take better care of myself, I found a job, and saved enough money for a place to live. I'm still working to get my son back, but this place saved my life."
