Early Intervention Training Institute Associate Director

Los Angeles Child Guidance Clinic is a private, non-profit, community-based mental health clinic with an 85 year history of service to the children and families of Central and South Los Angeles. The Clinic is a leading provider of mental health services which includes its Early Intervention & Community Wellness Division effectively working with at risk children under the age of five, as well as children's parents/caregivers. The Clinic offers much sought-after customized and/or topical early intervention training services to other mental health and allied professionals. The Clinic has an immediate opportunity for an Associate Director for its established Training Institute, a separate social enterprise, within our Early Intervention Division.

Responsibilities: For this entrepreneurial social enterprise, the Associate Director works under the general, consultative supervision of the Clinic's Director of Early Intervention & Community Wellness Services & Training to assist with ensuring that Institute operations proceed smoothly and efficiently within budget as it continues the Clinic's mission and position as a leading provider of mental health & early intervention training and services. This position requires significant individual initiative to arrange, plan, schedule trainings, including but certainly not limited to all details of securing trainees, venues and staffing; to provide the trainings; evaluate Institute training; research and expand possible training topics and audiences, recruit new trainers; initiate communication with persons who may utilize the Institute's services; and tailor training for specific groups or agencies. These trainings are developed for mental health/early intervention professionals and paraprofessionals of various educational backgrounds and experience levels who are interested in learning and honing their expertise in providing quality, developmentally-appropriate mental health and/or early intervention services. Other duties and tasks related to the Institute’s provision of quality training sessions are expected to be performed and will be assigned.

Skills: The EITI Associate Director position requires an experienced individual with a unique ability to perform self-initiated task completion, as well as to assist with securing and continuing business contacts according to the Clinic’s mission. Ability to proactively assist with securing, negotiating and continuously marketing training opportunities with key organizations, mental health providers, etc. plus strong management skills and a demonstrated ability to assist with the oversight of the training institute administratively are essential. Demonstrable knowledge of dyadic models of infant mental health and relationship-based interventions, previous direct experience providing mental health/early intervention services to the zero to five population and current, valid California licensure/registration number as a mental health services professional/intern are preferred, as is experience providing formal trainings to mental health and allied professionals. A qualified candidate with a degree in Child Development, or related field without licensure/registration as a mental health professional will be considered provided he/she meets all other requirements. A demonstrated commitment to culturally sensitive practices, reflective service models and strength-based practice methods is essential. Strong organization, communication and teamwork skills are a must, as is the ability to work closely with the Early Intervention & Community Wellness Division Director to follow the Clinic’s EITI business plan and maintain a calm demeanor while handling multiple tasks. Demonstrated ability to easily navigate email, WORD, EXCEL and other computerized systems required. This position works on and off Clinic sites, requires a valid CA driver license and insurable driving record, and may travel as needed.

Hours, Rate & Benefits:Salary is negotiable. Letters of interest/resumes or VITAs will NOT be considered without a demonstration of significant experience and a salary expectation. Early Intervention Clinical Supervisor (Licensed Psychologist Preferred)

LOS ANGELES CHILD GUIDANCE CLINIC is a private, non-profit, community-based mental health clinic with over 80-years of history of service to the children of Central and South Los Angeles. We have an immediate opening for a Clinical Supervisor with experience in providing early intervention mental health services. Qualified applicants must meet either the Board of Behavioral Sciences' or Board of Psychology's requirements to supervise staff completing clinical hours toward licensure. We are specifically searching for a licensed psychologist to work in our Early Intervention and Community Wellness division.

Responsibilities: The Clinical Supervisor works as part of a multidisciplinary team providing mental health services to children and their families/caregivers by providing clinical supervision to staff obtaining hours towards licensure in their respective disciplines, within Clinic and Board standards and performing related duties. This position may include a client case load and/or part-time status, depending on duties performed. Supervisors also timely complete required notes, paperwork, supervision logs, track supervisees case loads, attend meetings, provide staff trainings, evaluate staff clinical skills and may meet productivity requirements, again depending on actual duties performed. Supervisors are responsible for reviewing supervisees case assignments, chart documentation, evaluating staff performance and reviewing charts for timeliness and appropriateness of services. Supervisors may be assigned to Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health funded or other programs. Other duties will be assigned.

Requirements: Minimum of a master’s degree or equivalent (MSW, MA, Ph.D., PsyD, or MS) plus licensure and clinical experience and/or training directly related to very young children and child counseling. Clinical Supervisors must have and maintain current, valid licensure and sufficient years of experience to provide supervision to staff obtaining hours, per their respective Board requirements. Demonstrated knowledge of licensing Board and Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health requirements highly preferred. Bilingual Spanish speaking ability is also highly desired.

Hours, Rate & Benefits: DOE/DOQ, depending upon program, plus experience and licensure status. Early Intervention - Secretary III

LOS ANGELES CHILD GUIDANCE CLINIC is a private, non-profit, community-based mental health clinic with over 80-years of service to the children of Central and South Los Angeles. We have an immediate opening for a Secretary III for the Director of Early Intervention Services.

Responsibilities: The Secretary will work with the Director and staff to provide office reception and general clerical support to the Early Intervention Services division. The Secretary will answer phones and give information to callers, schedule appointments, take dictation and compose, type and proof read correspondence, maintain general correspondence files, read and route incoming mail, and perform other similar administrative and clerical tasks. Maintain master calendar for programs. Maintain a wide variety of reports, documents and files related to program functioning, including but not limited to census reports, mailing lists, budget and supply reports, contract compliance and renewal documentation, client attendance reporting and other similar program reporting requirements. May maintain and/or track program’s Incident Report file(s). Maintain a supply of forms routinely used by program staff. Interfaces as necessary with LACGC’s Administration Department to review, order and maintain program equipment and supplies. Reviews, tracks and maintains requisitions for same. Participates with other clerical and administrative support staff in routine and special tasks that support interdepartmental and general LACGC functioning. Maintains all records and documentation needed for program compliance and accountability in accordance with funding requirements and Clinic standards. Other duties will be assigned.

Requirements: For the position, an Associates Degree (A.A.) or equivalent number of units from a post-secondary school or secretarial college plus 1-2 years increasingly responsible secretarial experiences preferred; high school diploma or GED is required.

Hours:To be arranged.

Hourly rate: $13.50 to $14.03 per hour, depending upon experience.

Driver (25 Hours/Week; Approx. 2:00pm-7:30pm)

THE LOS ANGELES CHILD GUIDANCE CLINIC is a private, nonprofit community-based mental health clinic and is a leading provider of mental health services to children and youth, ages 0 to 25, and their families with more than 80 year history of service to the Central and South Los Angeles communities. We have an immediate opportunity for a Driver in our Transportation Department.

Qualifications: The qualifications are: MINIMUM AGE: • 21 if in possession of an acceptable driving record • 25 if record shows past accidents or tickets DRIVER’S LICENSE: • Current California Class “B” with Endorsement “P” authorization, (to transport children) and medical card. DMV REPORT: • No moving violations bring DMV print out at interview CRIMINAL RECORD &TB: • Must satisfy criminal record & TB clearance required for working with school children before beginning duties. LANGUAGE: • Must speak fluent English, bilingual Spanish speaking is desirable DRIVING EXPERIENCE: • 15-passenger van The successful candidate must be familiar with the geography of South Los Angeles, have some knowledge of, or experience working, with emotionally disturbed or special needs children and adolescents, and demonstrate a consistently calm and patient demeanor while transporting children and adolescents. Drivers act as part of the treatment team and will be added to the Clinic’s Pull Notice/safety program. The Pull Notice program provides the Clinic with consistent updates of driving record.

Wraparound Facilitator

LOS ANGELES CHILD GUIDANCE CLINIC is a private, non-profit, community-based mental health clinic with over 80-years of service to the children of Central and South Los Angeles. We have an immediate opening for a Facilitator in our Wraparound Program.

Responsibilities: Facilitators will work on a team providing services to children and their families/caregivers involved in the Los Angeles County foster care or probation systems using a Wraparound services delivery model. In Wraparound, the team does "whatever it takes" to assist high need children to be successful in school, home and their communities with the goal being to maintain children in community settings. Facilitators will lead the Child and Family teams to work directly with the children and family/caregivers per the Plan of Care in their respective environments, including but not limited to in homes, out-of-home placement(s), schools and/or in the community to help achieve permanent placement for the child(ren). Facilitators are responsible for: 1) convening the team and ensuring the continuity of care and that all identified services in the Plan of Care are provided, 2) ensuring the application of family-centered practice by the entire team, 3) serving as the contact point for children, families, service providers and the community, and 4) ensuring there is continuous input and feedback from the family and service providers. In addition, in accordance with the Child and Family Plan of Care, Facilitators will provide mental health services, crisis intervention and case management services through a Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health Services contract. Use of own car, and timely completion of duties including but not limited to paperwork, keeping records, and performing other, similar paraprofessional job duties are required. Other duties will be assigned, in keeping with the program's model to serve children in the most effective manner.

Requirements: MA/MS/PhD in social work/psychology with 2 years experience OR a BA in a social work/psychology with 4 years experience with severely emotionally disturbed youth and DCFS/Probation consumer is required. Applicants must understand and demonstrate independent initiative to perform in a team environment that endorses the family-driven, group decision-making process at the heart of this model. Bilingual Spanish speaking ability is highly preferred. A valid California driver license and an insurable driving record are required.

Hours: This is a 24hour/7 day per week program and the Facilitator will arrange and participate in this coverage with other team members, depending on the needs of children and families in the program. This position will be placed on the Non-Management Salary Plan.

Parent Partner Wraparound

LOS ANGELES CHILD GUIDANCE CLINIC is a private, non-profit, community-based mental health clinic with an 80 year history of service to the children of Central and South Los Angeles. We have an immediate opening for an energetic parent to work in our Wraparound program. The Parent will work as part of a multidisciplinary Child and Family Team supporting the provision of services to children and families. Program staff provides on-call & other services 24 hours per day, seven days a week.

Duties: Under the guidance of the Facilitator, a Parent works as a member of the program's Child and Family Team. A parent partner shall have personal experience with navigating one of the public agencies: DCFS, Probation, DMH or the special education system. Referring Departments may include the Department of Children and Family Services, the Department of Mental Health, or the Probation Department. Parent Partners work closely with assigned Wraparound child(ren)'s parent/caregivers to represent their best interests and participate as members of the Child and Family team. This position is the primary contact for parents involved with the program. Other, similar duties will be assigned.

Parent Partners demonstrate a strong ability to communicate in a team and mobilize and motivate people. A demonstrated knowledge of child welfare and allied health services provided by the referring Departments is required, including experience with having a child involved in the system, as is experience maintaining strict confidentially. The successful applicant possesses verbal, bilingual Spanish speaking, written, organization and interpersonal skills. TB and fingerprint clearance requirements must also be met, per Clinic policy. Must drive own car, have valid CA driver license and insurable driving record.

Hours: Program staff provides on-call & other services 24 hours per day, seven days a week.

Hourly rate: Placed on Non-Management Salary Plan plus mileage, up to full time status. This position will be added to the Clinic's Non-Management Salary Plan. This position's total hours per week are expected to increase (or another position will be added) as services expand.
