Billing Lead

Responsibilities

The Lead will work as an active member of the Administrative Department to: provide support services and act as a liaison between the clinical Division Directors, Clinical Staff and clients while supervising Medical Records, Receptionist, Billing and the Reconciliation Specialist and other departmental, subordinate positions. The Billing Lead will oversee various electronic health record and mental health billing functions according to the Clinic’s contract with the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health and within Clinic standards. The Billing Lead provides training and support for Intakes, Discharges, Transfers, and Annual paperwork, Electronic Clinical Records, Payer Financial Information, Billing Claims, and other Insurance/payment Verification. The Billing Lead is responsible for handling billing issues, insurance disputes, processing voids, and resubmission of claims. The Billing Lead maintains the daily, weekly, and monthly reports which are updated in Profiler/CMSS and the Los Angeles County DMH/IS system. The Administrative Billing Lead will conduct and maintain financial audits for HIPAA compliance, implements effective work methods, coordinated staff work schedules, hires, evaluates and trains staff; monitored staff work quality; prepared and administer performance evaluations; provide input regarding work improvements to the Vice President of Administration and Finance. Other duties will be assigned.

Requirements

Experience supervising subordinate level staff to meet job performance expectations, at least two years previous experience performing data entry, excellent computer, data reconciliation and data tracking skills, experience supervising a busy health services office. Demonstrated skills with at least two years of previous experience supervising subordinate staff who perform data entry, records compliance, reception duties and Spanish speaking ability highly preferred. Strong organization, communication and teamwork skills as well as demonstrated understanding of and commitment to furthering the Clinic’s mission are a must, as is the ability to maintain a calm demeanor while handling multiple tasks without losing productivity. This position is primarily assigned to one Clinic location, but will work at all three sites as needed.
